Three development village clusters in three districts in Sayabouly province have gained an access to permanent electricity following the complete installation of 22- and 0.4-KV power lines.

A ceremony to mark the completion of such basic infrastructure for the three development clusters of Sayabouly, Xienghone and Hongsa was held in Vientiane Capital on 12 February.

Present at the event were representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the Somphasay Road and Bridge Construction and Electricity Installation Group, a local contractor, and authorities concerned.

Chairman of the company Inpanh Phengpasomsay said that his company was able to complete the 67-billion-kip project in November 2012, ahead of the due date.

The project is the installation of a 22-KV power line in a length of 191 km and a 0.4 KV power cable in a distance of 34 km. More than 20 villages with 1,446 households in total are believed to benefit from the newly developed infrastructure.
