Lao leaders send greetings to 54th Anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Cuba

Comrade Choummaly Sayasone, President of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao PDR, and Comrade Thongsing Thammavong, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, have sent national day greetings to Comrade Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba.

The telegrams read:

“On the occasion of the 54th Anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Cuba, on behalf of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic as well as in our own names, we have the honor to extend to you and through you to the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban Government and all fraternal people our warmest congratulations and best wishes.

“Over the past years, despite myriad challenges such as the economic-trade and financial blockade, the impact of the world economic-financial crisis and severe natural disasters occurring continuously, under your competent leadership, Cuba has continued socio-economic development as well as gradual improvement of the people’s living conditions.

“May we take this auspicious opportunity to wish the fraternal Cuban People and our dear comrades good health, personal well-being and every success in your noble tasks.

“May the friendly ties, tradition of solidarity and cooperation between our two parties, governments and peoples be steadily strengthened and flourished.”

Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, joined in the spirit of celebration, with a similar message to his Cuban counterpart Comrade Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, respectively.
