Lao leader congratulates DPRK’s Kim Jong-Un on his election

(KPL) Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao PDR has sent a message of congratulations to his counterpart, Mr. Kim Jong Un, on the occasion of his election as first Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People’ s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

President Choummaly, who is also President of the National Defence and Security Committee of the Lao PDR, sent a message to his counterpart on 20 April, following the fifth session of the 12th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK which elected Mr. Kim Jong Un as Chairman of the National Defense Commission on 13 April.

The message read: “You have been elected to the highest position of the country as the first Chairman of the National Defense Commission, which demonstrates the confidence that the Party, state and people of the DPRK have in you.”

“I believe that under the wise leadership of the Workers’ Party of the DPRK, headed by you, the people of the DPRK will continue to make great strides in building a civilized and strong socialist nation in the DPRK.” The president also expressed the hope that the traditional relations between the two parties, states and peoples be further consolidated for the fruitful bebefit of the peoples of Laos and the DPRK.

Mr. Kim Jong Un also holds the titles of First Secretary of the Worker’s Party of Korea (WPK), Chairman of the Party’ s Central Military Commission, and Supreme Commander of the Korean People’ s Army.
