The new settlement has been developed with an investment of 33 billion kip for the villagers of Sobchad, Thambing, Sensy and Phonkeo, according to Chief District Administrator of Champhone Mr. Khamphiew Phimmathath.

The handover ceremony was held on December 13 at Ban Keosengkham, Champhone district, Borikhamsay, between Theun Hinboun Power General Manager Mr. Robert Allen Jr and Chief District Administrator of Champhone Mr. Khamphiew Phimmathath, in the witness of Borikhamsay Governor Mr. Pan Noymany and local people.

“Borikhamsay Authorities pay attention to improving living conditions of these villagers by building more stable houses and providing vocational training so that they have better life than in the past when slash-and-burn cultivation practice was their main source of food and income,” said Mr. Khamphiew.
