(KPL) Lao foreign affairs officials led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bounkeuth Sangsomsak met their Cuban counterparts led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba Marcelino Medina Gonzalez in Vientiane yesterday.
At the meeting, both sides informed each other of the achievements of the socio-economic development in their respective countries.
The Lao and Cuban sides informed and appreciated each other of and for the achievements of the of the 9th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the 6th Congress of Communist Party of the Republic of Cuba.
Both agreed that the two countries have enjoyed a constant growth of political cooperation, however their cooperation on economic affairs is relatively limited and as a result it is necessary for the two countries to increase the cooperation on the area by urging relevant sectors in the two countries to enhance their cooperation.
They agreed that relevant sectors in their respective countries should be urged to study into the potentials exploitable for the cooperation on economic area to bring about benefit for the peoples of both countries.
They also reaffirmed the policy of their respective governments on mutual assistance between the two countries in both regional and international arena. Both sides also shared common points of views on outstanding regional and international issues.
