(KPL) The CARE International in Laos in Sekong in cooperation with the Association of People with Disabilities in the province has provided people with disabilities in the province an access to better living conditions through engaging them with income generation activities.
The effort is to help people with disabilities rely less on their family and communities and gradually graduate from the poverty.
Over 90 families of people with disabilities have been engaged in animal husbandry such as goats, ducks, pigs, fish and handicraft production and motorbike repair.
Additionally, they have also built 20 community hygienic facilities, 13 rain water reservoirs and enhanced capacity building for the provincial and district authorities and people with disabilities.
