(KPL) Xiengkhouang province has aligned agro-forestry production with processing industry, according to Deputy Director of Agriculture and Forestry Service of Xiengkhouang province.
Mr. Khamsy Chanthavong said this week that the market oriented production in agricultural area was growing. The province has allocated groups of farmers to produce different cash crops such as maize, chili, garlic, legume, rice and fruit trees and raise kinds of animals including cattle, goats, pigs and sheep, poultry and fish.
Mr. Khamsy said that the province prioritized cattle farming to ensure nutrition export to neigbouring provinces and overseas markets.
Farmers are encouraged to grow grass for feeding cattle as the authorities provide them grass seeds.
