(KPL) The Korean Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) has donated two pickup trucks to help health services in Xiengkhouang and Houaphanh to improve the mother and child health services in the two provinces.
The handover of the two pickup trucks, totally worth USD 40,600 was performed by Dr. Kunhee Park, in charge of mother and child health affairs, World Health Organisation (WHO, and Dr. Kaysone Chounlamany, Director of the Mother and Child Centre.
Dr. Bounpheng Philavong of Ministry of Health and relevant officials witnessed the handover.
The pickups will be then presented to two provinces Xiengkhouang and Houaphanh to enhance their service regarding mother and child affairs to achieve the melinium development goals-the reduction of mortality rate of mothers and children by 2015 and the national strategy on mothers and children to reduce the mortality rate of women and children which is co implemented in Xiengkhouang and Houaphanh provinces by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation .
