BIDV presents 1,000 televisions to Lao government

(KPL) The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) on 2 May presented 1,000 televisions worth about 537 million kip to the government of Laos to distribute to its poorest families.

The presentation of television to the Lao government was held in Vientiane between Standing Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad and Mr. Tran Bac Ha, General Director of BIDV. The function was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos and a number of senior Lao officials.

BIDV is the first to be established among four largest State-owned Commercial Banks in Vietnam and it is a special State-owned enterprise organized as a State General Corporation.

In the past few years, the BIVD has provided a number of contributions to support the social-economic development in Laos, especially in the field of education, public health and infrastructure development.

Since 2005, the BIDV has spent around 8.8 billion kip to support the social-economic development in Laos.
