(KPL) The Irrigation Division of the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Service of Vientiane Province has handed over the Nam Se Reservoir Irrigation system to authorities of Na Sae village for management.
The handover ceremony took place on January 28 between the Irrigation Division Head Thongphoune Phanthavong and Head of the Nam Sae Reservoir Irrigation Thib Pheth, Keo-oudom district, Vientiane province.
Nam Sae Reservoir Irrigation system can reportedly feed around 300 ha in rainy season and 273 ha of farmland during dry season in the villages of Na Sae, Nayao, Khonekoum and Harddeua, according to Mr. Thongphoune.
‘The Nam Sae Reservoir Irrigation facility is located at Na Sae village, Keo-oudom district, Vientiane province,’ said Deputy Head of Keo-oudom District Agriculture and Forestry Office Khemkham Vanthanouvong. ‘It is 20 km away from the municipality of Keo-oudom district and its construction commenced in 2008 and was completed in 2010. The over 20-billion-kip development project was financed by the government.’
Also present at the handover ceremony were Deputy Director of the Irrigation Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Nouandeng Lathsavong, Deputy Office Head of Vientiane Provincial Administration Office Somsanith Sengthong, local authorities and people.
