(KPL) The villages of Xiengman and Nahia have been declared the eighth and ninth cultural villages of Viengsay district, Houaphanh province, in ceremonies held on 17 and 19 January, respectively.
Speaking at the ceremonies, chief of Viengsay district said that Xiengman and Nahia have worked on preparations for one year to develop themselves as the district’s cultural villages.
Made up of several ethnic groups, Xiengman is inhabited by 214 villagers, including 117 female, in 49 families. Most of the villagers are engaged in farming and animal husbandry. While Nahia is inhabited by 213 people, including 113 female, in 53 families. The per capita income is 2.5 million kip for Xiengman and 1.84 million kip for Nahia.
