Hinheub district has fifth cultural village – Vangkhi

(KPL) Hinheub district, Vientiane province, on 28 December held a ceremony to hail a new cultural village of the district Vangkhi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Khamkien Phanthavong, Head of Vangkhi village, highlighted activities and achievements of his village in preparation for its development as a cultural village of the district.

He said that Vangkhi village, one of the 43 villages in Hinheub district, was divided into 16 units and had a population of 1,131 in 245 families and 220 households. The village has one secondary school, one primary school, one temple and one party cell.

He added that the villagers of Vangkhi were mostly engaged in farming, plantation of agarwood, and rubber trees. They also raise animals for consumption and sale.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the district and people from 43 nearby villages.
