Laos releases 363 prisoners on national day

(KPL) The President of the Lao PDR issued on 10 December a decree No. 267 to release and reduce jail term for 707 progressive prisoners. These included 116 women prisoners, and 20 foreign prisoners.

According to the Lao language ‘Passason’ (people) daily newspaper issued on 23 December, the number of the released prisoners is 363, 67 of who are women while the prisoners whose jail term is reduced amount to 344, 49 of who are women prisoners.

This was a part of activities of the Party and Lao government to salute the 35th National Day and the 450th anniversary of Vientiane as the national capital.
